The moment I've been waiting for since 2001 is here: Pittsburgh's fifth Super Bowl trophy, and coach Bill Cowher's first. The Steelers join San Fran and Dallas as the only five-bowl franchises.
I drifted in and out of the radio coverage last night, as this horrible virus at times knocked me out and at times refused to let me sleep. But I heard the entire fourth quarter and most of the third. Roethlisberger's intercepted pass and the subsequent Seattle touchdown nearly brought it all down. But the later Steeler interception and the Randle-El flea-flicker to Hines Ward was priceless. Anybody know of a good highlights link on the Web?
Speaking of Ward, his MVP was well-deserved. Big Ben did fine, but that interception shows that his youth affects his play in big games. As much as I hate the Pats, you've got to respect their game and Tom Brady's cool leadership. Brady may be the best QB in the NFL now. But give Roethlisberger a break. It's just his second year, and he may equal or surpass Brady.
